Meet the young hopes of Croatian gastronomy
Grgo Bačelić, Tibor Klobučar and Matija Kuzmić are the winners of Raise the Bar project’s scholarships which will enable them to perfect their culinary skills at renowned world universities. Scholarships were awarded at the presentation of the Gault & Millau 2021 guide for Croatia, one of the most important gastronomic events this year, where Grgo, Tibor and Matija once again showed their skills and knowledge.
Tibor Klobučar started his work experience in 2014 as a part of his school internship at the Preša restaurant in Krapina and the restaurant of the Villa Magdalena hotel in Krapinske Toplice. He received additional education at courses at the KUL IN institute, and in Naples he attended a course for making pizza Napoletana at the AVPN school. Thanks to the Raise the Bar scholarship, Tibor will continue his education at Le Cordon Bleu University.
Grgo Bačelić will further improve the experience he gained in Šibenik’s Pellegrini and Zagreb’s Kut 510 restaurant, where he is still employed today, at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu University.
Young Matija Kuzmić is a passionate pastry chef who is currently doing an internship at the Zagreb restaurant Noel, and during the summer he will work at the famous Dubrovnik restaurant 360. He began his internship at the Boutique Hotel Korana Srakovčić in Karlovac where he discovered his talent and love for confectionery. The Raise the Bar scholarship will enable him to continue developing his talent at the Ecole Nationale superieure de patissierie – Ducasse & Thuries.
Grgo, Tibor and Matija all share a passion for continuous improvement and that is why they applied to participate
in the Raise the Bar project by which Coca-Cola HBC Croatia supports the development of Croatian hospitality and tourism by investing in professional training of waiters, baristas, chefs and pastry chefs.
We will surely hear more about the promising chefs who eagerly await their education at the renowned universities. This is certainly supported by the fact that they deserved scholarships because they delighted the Raise the Bar jury consisting of renowned Croatian chefs Hrvoje Zirojevic, Marko Gajski, Igor Gudac and Bruno Vokal and the manager and co-owner of the restaurant Noel Ivan Jug.
